TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

Studying art involves creative conversation and sharing discussions such as about social issues between students and instructors. As an educator, I believe my role is to teach students to be aware of the world and to express students' thoughts creatively through making art. Moreover, as an educator, it is an important role for me to teach students to form their identity as cultural beings, especially students who are from multiple cultural backgrounds.

I hugely emphasize the experience. I believe that learning a new visual experience using student's prior knowledge will be more productive. I want to teach my students to be creatively expressive. I want to teach my students to speak up when they face injustice and be more respectful.

I believe that art and design education can change student's perspectives of viewing the world and become more aware of social issues.
